There’s a phrase I borrowed from afterlife researcher Craig Hogan that I want to share with you today: Answer the phone.
Your loved ones in Spirit are reaching out to you. They’ve been reaching out for a while—they were calling even before you realized you could be called.
Think of the cardinal on the fence post, the ladybug that keeps appearing on your windowsill, or the song that plays on the radio exactly when you need to hear it. The dream so vivid that it changes the way you see everything. The scent of someone’s cologne in a room they never entered. The stranger whose name just happens to be your child’s. The clock stopping at the moment he passed. The Christmas ornament that falls during a toast.
These aren’t just coincidences—they’re calls.
For a long time, I thought you had to be especially gifted to receive signs—like a spiritual prodigy with a direct line to the other side. But then I started paying closer attention and realized the messages have always been around us. Bryan was calling me constantly.
You don’t have to be advanced or special to receive signs. All you need is a willingness and awareness.
Start small. Ask for a sign—perhaps a yellow butterfly, a red bird, or a particular song. Or simply ask for any sign to let you know they are there. Then go about your day without straining or trying to force it. Be genuine in your request, and just notice what happens.
The sign will come. It might come through someone else’s voice, a book that opens to a meaningful page, a license plate with a familiar name, or in a way so unexpected and precise that you can’t help but laugh and tear up at the same time—knowing, yes, this is them.
Spirit communicates through anything and anyone available. You just need to be open enough to receive.
Answer the phone. Lean into the connection, let them know you’re listening.
