Spirit shared a meaningful acronym with me some time ago, when I was curious about what it truly means to live not just a spiritual life, but a life where Source is gently leading the way, and you’re open to following. It was in response to my continued pursuit of my own desire to ‘live between both worlds’, as we discussed in last week’s Monday post.
Here is what came through, an acronym – Guided.
G is for Give in. Allow Source and Spirit to guide you. Be grateful for the guidance even when it is not what you asked for. Especially when it is not what you asked for.
U is for Understand and believe that you are greater than your human limitations. The you that knows you can do this is closer to the truth than the you that keeps insisting you cannot.
I is for Intuition. Trust it. Let it lead you. The little nudge that says go this way, call this person, take this turn — that is not random. That is your soul speaking.
D is for Decide. Decide that you believe Spirit can communicate with you, and that you can communicate back. The decision is the doorway. Without the decision, the conversation cannot begin.
E is for Embody. Embody all that you are. No more hiding. No more shrinking. No more performing a smaller version of yourself for an audience that was never going to fully see you anyway.
D is for Dedicate. Dedicate yourself to this as your new way of being. Not a phase. Not a project. A life.
I read those words now, and I think about what living the guided way actually feels like in practice. It is not constant euphoria. I have off days. I get angry about silly things. I lose patience with myself. I forget to ask for guidance and try to muscle through on my own.
But on the days when I remember — when I give in, when I trust, when I decide, when I show up as myself without judgment — there is a quality to the day I cannot describe except to say it feels like the universe is conspiring for me, not against me. Synchronicities show up. The right people appear. Things fall into place that maybe might not have otherwise.
And deep down, I always feel reassured knowing I’m not alone in this journey. I’ve never been on my own—my Spirit team is right there with me, supporting me every step of the way. My team is my Divine, my Spirit Guides, my son Bryan, my Guiding Angels, and others who step in to assist as needed.
And my team is here with me in the physical world — my husband, my family, and friends, including all those on the grief journey — the ones who always show up and love me unconditionally. Spirit flows through them just as much as it surrounds them.
The hand that reaches for yours and the nudge that comes from nowhere are both your team. Both are Source, moving toward you.
And your team is with you also. Who is on your team?
