Messages of hope and healing

There is a part of you that grief cannot touch

There is a part of you that grief cannot touch.

I know that might be hard to hear. When you are in the thick of it — when the waves come, when the missing is so heavy you cannot lift your head — the idea that anything in you is untouched can feel almost offensive.

Stay with me anyway.

It took me a long time to know what I am about to tell you. Looking back, I can see it as a truth that was always there, but I did not know it for years. I lived inside the grief. I was the grief, or I thought I was. If someone had told me early on what I am telling you now, I am not sure I would have been ready to hear it.

So read this knowing I am not asking you to feel it today. I am only asking you to let the words sit somewhere within you, so that when your soul is ready, they are already there, waiting.

Your body grieves. Your mind grieves. Your heart, which loved so fully, grieves with everything it has. These are the parts of you that lived in time with the one you lost — that held their hand, heard their laugh, built a life around their presence. Of course, they ache. The ache is love with nowhere familiar to go.

But your soul was never in time. Your soul does not live in the story of before and after. Your soul remembers what your grieving mind cannot yet hold — that love does not end, that connection does not end, that the one you lost is not gone.

My soul knows no grief.

When I finally truly understood that sentence — many years after first hearing something similar — I felt a shift. It wasn’t the pain that changed, as it had its own timeline — but beneath it, something else became clear. A feeling of stability arose, along with a knowing. A gentle inner voice softly whispered: you are greater than this moment… You are more than this loss.

This is not about bypassing or denying the existence of grief. Instead, it’s about recognizing that grief is a process moving through you, rather than defining who you are.

You don’t need to know this today. It might be a long time before you do, and that’s okay.It is still true.
